Notices from the newsletter

  • From Pastor Tim
    • The Interprovincial Board of Communication have prepared brochures titled “The Moravian Church” in cooperation with the Faith & Order Commission which provide an overview of the Moravian Church – its belief, background, ministry and organization. Please feel free to take one for yourself, or for your friends and neighbors. They are located at the front vestibule and on the offertory table in the Sunday School Sanctuary.

    • There will be Seminary in the South Learning Intensive at Higgins Lodge with Craig Atwood on November 3-6, 2019. This is for anyone who is interested in a greater understanding of the history and heritage in which Moravian theology and tradition are grounded.
The cost for room and meals are single occupancy is $205 and double occupancy is 150. For more details see the brochure on the bulletin board.

  • 100 X 10 Campaign
This campaign to shore up our Repair and Replacement Fund is off to a great start. Our goal is to have 100 members contribute and extra $10 each month for the next 24 months. If successful we will raise $24,000 over the period. Our hope is to meet and exceed that amount. Wouldn't it be great if we could double it! Please consider helping in this effort. Just mark your checks "100x10". If you want to give cash you may use the envelope in the pew and mark it "100x10". If you would like the Treasurer to track your giving on your quarterly contribution statement be sure to include your Advent contribution account number, which is the number on your preprinted Advent envelope. All contributions received with the "100x10" notation will be deposited directly in the Repair and Replacement Fund. We will keep you posted along the way with progress reports in the Adventurer.
Thanks in advance for your support! The Board of Trustees

  • Sunnyside Ministries Donations
The Fellowship Class and Advent Church continues their support for Sunnyside Ministry.
During the summer months we will be collecting bar soap, all toiletries, (New) packs of men's, women's and children's socks, tennis shoes, sandals, and new or good condition lightweight summer clothing.
Also a much needed food item is canned meat, such as tuna, chicken, ham, potted meat, beef stew, salmon and pasta with meat or soup with meat.
There are 2 large plastic containers in the Fellowship Center to place your donations. If the building is locked you can put them in the parlor where the Fellowship class meets.
Thanks to everyone for sharing what you have been blessed with to others less fortunate.

  • Operation Christmas Child
Filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child is quickly approaching. Over the past year Elizabeth Weaver has been shopping for great deals on items to fill shoeboxes. She hase found lots of goodies with a plan to pack boxes and give members an opportunity to “adopt” a box. The cost would be $20 per box (this includes the $9 shipping fee). Elizabeth will have a sample box of what will be included in each box that you are welcome to check out.
If you enjoy packing your own box you will still have that opportunity (Elizabeth will be providing empty boxes soon) Please see Elizabeth Weaver if you are interested in adopting a box. Thank you so much for supporting this worthy cause of loving on children around the world by helping to meet their physical and spiritual needs.
    Sincerely Elizabeth Weaver
