Keith White was born in Ahoskie, North Carolina. He grew up in the community of Askewville, with a Windsor mailing address. Keith was active in the Askewville Baptist Church, singing in the choir and participating in Sunday School, VBS, and youth group activities, having made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of ten.
Keith attended East Carolina University for one year. While at the university he affirmed his call to ministry and transferred to Gardner-Webb College in Boiling Springs where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Religion. He then attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1979. It was during his seminary days that he first heard terms such as "litany", "liturgy", "memoir", "parament", and "church year". Little did he know he was being prepared to become a Moravian! Keith completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in 2000.
Keith served as pastor of two Baptist churches, Oak Grove and Menola, before coming to Winston-Salem in 1984. He served as the Associate Pastor/Minister of Education at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church under the mentoring of Dr. Cecil R. Cave. Keith then served as the pastor of Union Hill Baptist Church in Clemmons.
While at Mineral Springs, Keith met his wife, Sue. They were married on September 14, 1991 at Knollwood Baptist Church. He began preparation for service in the Moravian Church in February, 1997 and was installed as the pastor of Bethesda Moravian Church in October, 1997. Keith was installed as the pastor of Enterprise Moravian Church in December, 2004 and served for nearly seven years.
Keith will was installed as pastor of Advent Moravian Church on September 25, 2011.
He is especially grateful to Sue for her faithful support and says she is "a great asset" to his ministry.
